Why Maintenance?
Usually no one pays attention to his or her roof until there is a problem.
A well designed and installed roof, if properly maintained, could last greater than 25-years. Whereas a poorly designed and improperly installed roof, with little or no proper maintenance is the largest cause of roof failure. Facts show that these roofs only last ½ of their anticipated service span.
| Mechanically Anchored Systems | EPDM membrane panels are securely attached to roof deck with batten strips. This type of roof is designed for roofs where you do not want the additional weight of ballast (rock). This system is good for a variety of lightweight roof deck such as plywood and light gauge metal. |
| Ballasted systems | EPDM membrane panels are loose laid over the roof using roof products accessories to make watertight and then weighed down with round river-washed stones or paving blocks. |
| Fully Adhered Systems | EPDM membrane is installed over insulation that is mechanically fastened to the deck and this is fully bonded to the insulation with an adhesive. This type of roof system was designed for commercial use with roof that has a limited load-bearing design, high roof slopes, or contoured roofs. |
| APP | This roof system is torch applied. It is atactic polypropylene polymer and asphalt reinforced with a polyester mat. App comes in a variety of thickness, and surfaces that can be either smooth or granulated |
| SBS | This type of roof system may be either torch or mopped applied. It is a styrene-butadiene styrene compound and can have either a polyester or fiberglass blend. SBS comes in a variety of thicknesses. |
